MOJAVE, Kern County — October 26, 2026. Caltrans has scheduled bridge maintenance on State Route 58 east of the main Mojave corridor for Tuesday through Friday, October 27–30. According to District 9’s weekly traffic advisory, the outside lane and shoulder in both directions are subject to closure between Cameron Canyon Road and Business Route 58 at Exit 165.
Crews are expected on site between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. each workday. Caltrans anticipates brief traffic delays, but has not described a complete shutdown of State Route 58. Drivers should watch for changing work-zone signs rather than assume travel is prohibited for the entire segment.
This is different from the separate Randsburg Cutoff work
The agency’s weekly advisory also lists guardrail repairs farther along the route near Randsburg Cutoff Road on Friday, October 30. Those operations are separate from the Cameron Canyon bridge work. Grouping both under a generic ‘Highway 58 closed’ alert would be inaccurate and potentially harmful to travelers.
